This is a glossary I created, so I can learn and practice some words according to my field of study. This is so useful!
accountant

A person whose job is to keep, inspect, and analyse financial accounts.
Example: In terms of day to day activities this meant that directors would have frequent meetings with project leaders, a weekly meeting with the office accountant and would serve as a forefront of the business.

An estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time.
Example: Examination of the BUDGET for conformance with organisational objectives - The BUDGET must conform with organisational objectives for the farm to achieve its mission statement.

A person, partnership, or corporation engaged in commerce, manufacturing, or a service; profit-seeking
enterprise or concern.
Example: This can help to improve the overall running of the BUSINESS or organisation and also help to make improvements where necessary. Communication in the farming scenario given would be considered an important element to the running of the BUSINESS for many reasons.

A business organization that makes, buys, or sells goods or provides services in exchange for money.
Example: The COMPANY aims to maintain production at a level of 90% for 15 weeks.

A rival organization that is engaged in commercial or economic competition with others.
Example: In the case of Yahoo, its main COMPETITOR across the full range of its services is AOL.

A person who buys goods and services.
Example: Last minute dot coms' packaging is more in the form of quality of service and the ease of use of the selling buying medium, these become attributes of the service which make the biggest impact on the CONSUMER in advertising the company and their products.

A formal agreement between two or more parties. A document that states the terms of such an
agreement. The branch of law treating of contracts.
Example: When FBT is initially agreed parties may create break clauses within the CONTRACT that allows the agreement to be broken under certain circumstances such as bankruptcy or failure of tenant to pay rent for example.

A person who is hired to perform work or to provide goods at a certain price or within a certain time.
Example: This is an example of how the partnership between the CONTRACTOR (Siemens) and client (UKPA) had a communications breakdown, with the developers failing to understand the user's requirements.

A farm, business, or other organization that is owned and run jointly by its members, who share the
profits or benefits.
Example: It has been observed that technical standard setting and patent pools potentially raise competition policy issues since they are established through a COOPERATIVE act among private companies in a free market [36].

A proportionate saving in costs gained by an increased level of production.
Example: Esco has ECONOMY OF SCALE and can buy in and produce high volume of products at once as it has lots of customers.

Example: These policies all relate to the need to protect the employer, EMPLOYEE and others from harm through legally binding regulations.

Example: Common management of fields meant that it required a consensus to make a change; hence it gave the small less progressive farmers the power to hold back the initiative of the large-scale ENTREPRENEUR.

A folder or box for holding loose papers that are typically arranged in a particular order for easy
reference.
Example: Due to different programming techniques, databases are found in a few different FILE formats.

Someone who commits capital in order to gain financial returns.
Example: As a long term INVESTOR a lot of income may be gained from dividends.

The members of the executive or administration of an organization or business.
Example: As the farm manager, I must look carefully at resources, particularly staff.

An area such as a country or part of a country where a product or service can be sold.
Example: As a farm manager, my business not only competes with the national MARKET, but also within the global MARKET. There may be occurrences abroad that can affect the UK MARKET.

Example: Advertising also plays a role in supporting other areas of MARKETING activity.

Example: However in order for IT to take off in these countries much MONEY and education needs to be spent on providing facilities and knowledge.

Example: Objective As a manager, I want to make my farm business as efficient as I possibly can in order to make a PROFIT and create a sustainable future for myself and my staff.

to manual work.
Example: At the same time, the SALARY and employment cost in west midlands is the lowest in UK regions.
